History Repeats Itself, Sometimes Violently
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2844542/the_hutaree_and_the_second_coming_of.html

the latest evidence of which appears to be the arrest of nine people in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio on seditious conspiracy charges. Those nine people apparently belonged to a militia group known as the Hutaree who not only believe that mankind has entered the Christian biblical "end times" but that it was their Christian duty to oppose local, state and federal authorities who are considered part of a "New World Order." Even worse, the Hutaree had planned for two years to assassinate federal, state or local police officers, according to the indictment issued by federal prosecutors.

The Hutaree share an ideology that is common with these survivalist/end-of-the-world militias. They believe that the established government is either bogus or has betrayed the will of the people, that the world is slowing becoming or has already become a one-government system (hence, the "New World Order," which commonly refers to the United Nations), and that their Christian-based belief system mandates their actions. It was such a set of beliefs that fostered the rise of the Michigan Militia, the organization that Timothy McVeigh and his cohorts belonged to and felt had chosen word over action, giving impetus to their plans that led to the Oklahoma City Bombing.
Does the Hutaree militia raise a red flag of growing far-right violence?
http://thesop.org/story/opinion/2010/03/31/does-the-hutaree-militia-raise-a-red-flag-of-growing-farright-violence.php

The Hutaree believe that the feds are conspiring to create one-world government and so a war is at hand, that is, between Christians and the Antichrist. Exactly who is the Antichrist? This is unclear from "Hutaree theology,` but I would think it must be Barack Obama, since he`s the president of the federal government.

... One might write off the Hutaree as a one off, an oddity with no future ramifications. I can`t really do that. Many incidents of the past come to mind: Ruby Ridge, The Branch Davidians in Waco and Timothy McVeigh`s bombing of federal building in Oklahoma City. These anti-government hate groups don`t mind using violence to achieve their ends. And in the case of David Karesh they don`t mind using "end of time` rhetoric, supposedly culled from the Book of Revelations, that employs Christ in their paranoid obsessions. That is a Christ as a violent warrior, not as a peaceful messenger of "turn the other cheek.`

... So the threat of "domestic terrorism` is greater with these fringe militia groups on the far-right, and especially when they hinge their belief-systems to twisted takes on Christianity, and purloin isolated passages from the bible (The Book of Revelations) for ill-purpose. When the federal building was bombed in Oklahoma City (1995) I thought (at first) it was "International Terrorists`. I was shocked to find out that Timothy McVeigh was just a disgruntled Gulf-War veteran!

And let us not forget Joseph Stack crashing his plane into an IRS building here in Austin. This was obviously an act of Domestic Terrorism. " Stack hated the government and was willing to kill innocent people to make his point. Stack shares some commonality with these Hutaree, only his weapon was a small airplane instead of IEDs. I fear these extremist groups will only multiply.

Militias 'Appalled' by Hutaree Suspects, FBI Says
http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/militias-appalled-by-mich-conspiracy-suspects-fbi-says/19421218

(March 31) -- The head of the FBI's Detroit office said Tuesday that other militias have distanced themselves from the nine members of the Midwest group who were indicted this week for plotting to kill law enforcement officers.

"I honestly think they don't believe the same things this group does," Andrew Arena told AOL News. "I think they were appalled."

In fact, there were media reports that an outside militia member went to the FBI after the Michigan-based Christian militia group Hutaree came to him for help. "It's true, he did," Arena said.

Arena said he didn't believe Hutaree is a very big organization. He said different people have trained and met with the group, and some have come and gone. "We don't have evidence they also crossed the line," Arena said.

This week, a massive federal raid in our area netted what we are told was a Christian terrorist organization planning to murder dozens of police in our region. Almost immediately, the other militia and pro-gun organizations distanced themselves. Who are the “Hutaree’s” and how are they different from the other militias? Well, the group are all republicans, 100%. No surprise there, in fact, the Michigan Militias have always been activist GOP, back into the 1990s. There is a much older history, though, one not taught in our schools.

The militias in Michigan and Ohio all have their roots in the KKK from back in the resurgent years of the 1920s. However, their primary activities were financial, they were “strike breakers” and “scabs,” turncoat shills for factory owners who looked for criminals and thugs to keep from paying fair wages. The Black Legion was not only the most violent arm of the KKK but also worked like their Nazi Germany counterparts, the SA and SS, to suppress organized labor. (Check out this history of the Black Legion)

Actually there are no new details but I liked the headline portrayal "Violent underbelly ... revealed"

In previous days posting I linked the Tea Party Patriots (dot) org website page devoted to the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia which admitted to knowing and jointly training with the Hutaree several times since Obama was a candidate, including within the past year.

Christian Militias And Tea Party: Threat To Our Democracy

... If it weren`t for our courageous police officers risking their lives to protect us, our society would quickly dissolve into anarchy.

But an alarming number of Tea Party members, Christian fundamentalists and and other conservative riff raff view cops as agents of the Antichrist.

There is a lot of hate brewing in the Tea Party Movement, the militia movement and other outposts of right-wing America, and it`s being stoked by Sarah Palin who uses violent imagery in her speeches, and other Republican leaders who demonize President Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress.

Tea Party members have already committed acts of vandalism and issued death threats against Democratic politicians, how long will it be before they also start gunning down law enforcement officials? ...

Despite the obvious fact that the advertisement was for a completely lawful event organized by a group that has nothing to do with the Hutaree at all, CNN used the image to openly imply that the alleged cop-killing Hutaree members were part of the same organization, demonizing the second amendment and the Tea Party movement all in one fell swoop.

Despite the obvious fact that the Tea Party Militia and the Hutaree trained together several times since Obama was a candidate and within the past year.
